Story

While i was watching the main series, I was expecting her appearance in the story, because normally the combination of serious girl and romance would generate a great story. However, she didn’t get much screen time, not even her own story arc. and now she’s getting a single episode special treatment which focus mainly on her.

Storywise, is good but a bit cramped. The reason is due to the producer trying to stuff every cast in to this single episode.

I’ve just switched to DiGi. No changes to my current number, just the network service provider switched only.

I registered on Tuesday, and it took DiGi around 2 days for completing the whole switching procedure.

It’s Left4Dead VS Mode Tournament which held at Sitiawan’s Cosplay Internet Centre on last Sunday (8th November 2009). It is a qualifier tournament sponsored by SteelSeries and Cooler Master CM Storm. The finals will be held in Selangor/KL area around December 2009. More details at AsianCyberGames. Along with my friends, we took part in this qualifier tournament for 2 reasons – Free registration & Win the prizes.

Cosplay Internet Centre is one of the participating cyber cafe that support the L4D tournament. Although the cyber cafe is called “Cosplay” but you won’t find any cosplayer in there. ^^;

The tournament’s registration is done at the spot, however, Cosplay’s staff ask us to register earlier as they could prepare this team card for every team members. Our team’s registration is done by one of our members, Teh. Since other members are not around in Sitiawan, so he decided the team’s name – 1K HunteR (because the 1st prize is RM1000, Yes, we take part for the money…)

Yes, we all laugh at the team’s name as it would be so embarrassing if we lose the game with that name – Failed Hunter.

It is a simple single-elimination-tournament. The teams are assigned through drawing.

The rules are pretty simple, each team must consists of 4 members. The campaign used would be either No Mercy or Blood Harvest. The choosing of campaign and infected/survivor start is done by both team leader via coin flip. For example, if team A wins the coin flip, they are given the option to either:

• Choose the campaign, then let Team B choose to start with infected/survivor.

• Choose to start with infected/survivor, then let Team B choose the campaign.

Only the last 3 maps of the selected campaign will be played. Which means the 3rd, 4th and 5th(finale) maps. After the final map, the accumulated final points will be taken as the final score to determine the winner team.

Other rules are pretty standard, such as Sportsmanship, non-offensive names, no exploits and no camping at illegal spots.

This is the second team we faced during the quarter-final, a team sponsored by Cosplay Internet Centre. At first we thought that we’re going to lose the tournament because during the training with this team the day before the tournament, we lose deadly…

This young man which I forgot his name is a professional gamer. He is one of the tournament judge/management team.

Cosplay has changed a lot since my last visit, they’ve upgraded most of their systems, such as PCs equiped with 9800GT/9500GT and gaming keyboard & mouse.

Apart from taking home RM1000 prize, we also got each person a Left4Dead mousepad and a limited edition SteelSeries QcK+MIBR mousepad (an enormous 45cmx40cm mousepad lol).

This is our first attempt in a tournament and unexpectedly won the tournament. It is a great experience and the feeling of nervousness while the game is going and winning the game is indescribable. Also thanks to the hard work of 1K HunteR members.

There’s a lot of Tama-nee figures out there but I prefer this one as it looks more like the original character and natural.

The scale is 1/6 which means it is huge, but wont be tall as she’s in kneeling pose. Not to forget about the price tag, retails for 8,800yen, Ouch..

The pose is a bit daring and eye catching. ^^;

Some might have to avoid it being seen by their mom or girlfriend.

Tama-nee looks extremely cute from this angle.

After living in the rented house for about 4-5months, we decided to move to ChowYang’s house. The main reason is due to the rental fee which is too heavy and we think it is not a good deal for us. Partially also due to ChowYang’s house has extra space and rooms for us. ^^;

Before we start to move our things, Robert brought some furniture and electronics from his grandma’s house, which increased our workload. ^^;

We spent almost 6hours to move all the things. 1 trip of bus and 7 trips of car, fully loaded. and we decide to have our temporary base at the living room.

It has being a while since I last write for the Week’O series.

After 3weeks of Semester break, here comes the second semester of my foundation studies at University Tunku Abdul Rahman.

First I’ll simply sum up what I’ve done during my 3 weeks semester break.

To be frank, I spent most of the time stay at home, except for the Mooncake Festival family gathering that I went to Shah Alam with my family.

Other than that, I just stay at home managing my documents and files. Also playing along with my sister’s hamsters.

I have no idea how and who lost the wireless router’s power adapter last time.

Mom ask me to buy a new power adapter for it, or else it’s a waste leaving it there.

Since I’m so free at home, father gave me a task, to observe the land surveyor which going to survey my uncle’s land.

and I ate lots of snacks at home compared with staying at Kampar… Why? cause at Kampar my daily budget is limited…

before back to Kampar, I did some cleaning to my home’s desktop…

after back to Kampar… more cleaning need to be done.

This semester going be a tough semester. The subjects are:

• Fundamentals of Marketing (I have no idea on how this subject gonna be…)
• General Mathematics II (I barely made it over during last semester’s G.Math I)
• Management Studies (Learn how to manage huh….)
• Web Page Design (I have some basics but not experience)
• Writing for Business (The first lecture keep on telling to write simple English, if that so, this subject is going to be easy to handle)
• Writing for Mass Communication (Trying to get myself in this subject)

This semester, my target is to maintain my last semester’s result. Secondary target is to master the Webpage design. That’s all…

Plot Summary:

The year is 2040 and the galaxy is flourishing with several colonies and advanced technology. AI is near perfection and the current top idol is the near-completed Virturoid Idol Sharon Apple. All that is missing are her actual feelings, which instead are supplied by Myung Fang Lone. Sharon’s debut concert is on planet Eden, where at the same time, fighter pilots Isamu Dyson and Guld Bowman battle over air superiority for the “Supernova Project.” Isamu, Guld and Myung were once childhood friends, but after an accident seven years ago, they went their own separate ways. With Myung back in the picture, the old disputes are once again awakened. And when an unstable and illegal AI technique is installed in Sharon, the situation is worsened.

Story

After around 10 years of its prequel, on 1994 comes the official sequel of Macross franchise.

The story of this OVA is great, featuring romance, mecha action and futuristic science-fiction story which involves with a conflict between human and Artificial Intelligence. This is the main difference between this OVA and its prequels, either official or “inofficial”.

I think that the story is very well plotted. I’m satisfied with the way that the relationship between the characters are being illustrated. The details are revealed episode by episode until the end.

Overall, the story is very good, the triangle relationship, the friendship, and the mankind versus Artificial Intelligence. However, there’s some minor flaws that I noticed, it never explained that how come the AI’s hologram is appearing at places that doesn’t have hologram projector. or is it just the illusions that created by the AI’s music..?

Type: OVA

The animation is great in this OVA. First to be mention is the mecha action. I’m really impressed with the precision of the details of the mecha action scenes, either during the test flights or the battle scenes. Especially the battle scene in the third episode is superbly great.

Of course not to forget about the excellent artwork of the 4 episode OVA. Superbly detailed hand drawn animations mixed with some CG effects (at certain scenes). I heard that Sharon’s concert is sepcially designed by a famous animation director, Morimoto Koji.

The overall design and quality is crips and vibrant. Excellent piece of hand-drawn animation.

The music in this OVA is impressive. The AI, Sharon’s song are basically just sound only. Which we have to listen and feel it instead of just listen to the lyrics and the song.

Even though the music and soundtrack are made pretty well and I hardly found any flaws in the soundwork of this anime, but the music just won’t suit my taste…

I’ll have it rated: 15.5/20

Yes, this OVA has great story with excellent animation and soundwork. If you like macross franchise, watch this.
