Online Banking

Back then I could only heard or read how convenient online banking are. Never had any chance of trying out it, until my father started using e-banking provided by Public Bank few years ago.

After I helped him to activate his e-banking account, in 1 months time, he’s able to use it to pay for various payments and bills, such as electricity bill, water bill and so on, everything by himself… By the way, my UTAR’s every payment including admission fees are paid via online banking too… I’m impressed that my father could use it effectively…

Before, I came to Kampar, I applied a personal banking account at Maybank. So that I could get the money through the account from my parents(thank you). At UTAR, it’s best if you have a Public Bank account. I think it’s because UTAR is having some sort of partnership with Public Bank. Therefore, any payments such as tuition fees can be paid easily via Public Bank. So I applied a Public Bank personal banking account too.

I’ve used my Maybank account to pay my telephone bill, Celcom XPAX reload and etc… It’s so easy to use and convenient… No need cash, no need to go to post office/TM point…

So, do any of you tried out online banking?

Anime Review: Shigofumi

Shigofumi ~Stories of Last Letter~
シゴフミ ~Stories of Last Letter~
Letter from the Departed ~Stories of Last Letter~

Plot Summary:

Fumika and Kanaka are mail carriers- but not the typical kind. For one, Kanaka is a talking staff and for two, Fumika delivers shigofumi: letters from the dead addressed to the living. These letters are a final, true, communication derived from hate, hope, and love. The story unfolds following this pair and their uncommon job as well as Fumika’s unique ’situation’.

Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Psychological, Supernatural

Age Rating: Teenage and above (may contain bloody violence / bad language / nudity)

No. of Episodes: 12episodes

Story

The story of this anime is very unique, about the letters that written by the departed to the living. Although it spans only 12 episode, however, the story is presented with the perfect pace. Unlike some anime would waste most of their episodes with filler/fan-service content, each episode of Shigofumi is filled with multiple plot twists which lead to multiple arc ending and the main plot ending.

First, you might think that the story are all standalone arcs, however, you’ll soon discover that all the story arcs are relatively close to each another, some is interconnected, some not.

The story is great, some are very heart touching, some are heart breaking( I mean reality). However, there’s some minor problems which prevented it to not getting the best points. Such as there are some undeveloped plot at the end of the story. Still the anime is great and is one of my listed best anime.

I’ll have it rated: 35.5/40

Animation

Studio: J.C.STAFF

Year: 2008

Type: Series

The art is above average. It might not be the best but the quality is still far above any other anime. The artwork is great, although some people might thought that the character design is kinda weird, however, every author has different styles.

The colouring, lightning and shading are better than other productions of J.C.STAFF, which usually have bright colouring. Maybe the original author requested or it is meant to have that kind of treatment.

Animation is relatively smooth. Overall, the quality of this anime is very good.

I’ll have it rated: 26/30

Audio

Opening Theme(s):

  1. “Kotodama” by ALI PROJECT

Ending Theme(s):

  1. “Chain” by Snow*

Insert Theme(s):

  1. n/a

The opening is performed by ALI PROJECT, which most people dislike their song. Even so, I think that the song suits the anime very much. It strengthens the overall feeling of the show.

The soundtrack are quite nice, they suit the show and brings out the emotion effectively. But not suitable for casual listening.

I’ll have it rated: 15/20

Personal Rating

If you’re looking for any short anime with meaningful story, this anime is the one.

Anime Review: Wagaya no Oinari-sama

Wagaya no Oinari-sama
我が家のお稲荷さま
Our Home’s Fox Deity

Plot Summary:

Noboru and Touru are two brothers that have grown away from their family’s secret. The fact that their family can use the Water ki and can ward off demons. But when a demon is after Tourus’ life, in order for the family to keep him safe they need to awaken the fox-spirit Kuugen. Kuugen will not help for the sake of the family but only for the sake of the children late mother.

Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Supernatural

Age Rating: Everyone

No. of Episodes: 24 episodes

Story

The story is pretty straight forward and easy understanding. The first time I heard of this title, I have no idea what is the story about this anime. A fox deity in our house? sounds interesting. As the title promised, it is a slice of life type of fantasy anime.

The whole plot is simple, without any super boss to fight as other fantasy anime have. I found that its quite relaxing watching this anime. However, still not as good as other slice of life anime such as ARIA and etc… By the way, the major drawback of this series is the rushing ending… I hope they could elaborate the ending more.

This anime might not suit everyone’s taste as it lacks of intense actions scenes and a laid back storyline. Still an interesting anime to watch with if you’re a fans of fantasy, fox girl, shrine maiden.

I’ll have it rated: 28.5/40

Animation

Studio: ZEXCS

Year: 2008

Type: Series

The animation is consider average, since it was produced in year 2008 and yet I didn’t discover much astonishing animation technique. Back to the basic, artwork and illustrations are good enough and the quality is quite consistent.

There are some flaws in the animation especially the actions scenes which sometimes the animation is not smooth enough. Undeniable, this anime is not greatly animated, still it reached the required level.

I’ll have it rated: 22.5/30

Audio

Opening Theme(s):

  1. “KI-ZU-NA ~Haruka Naru Mono e~ 「KI-ZU-NA 〜遥かなる者へ〜」” by Yoshida Hitomi

Ending Theme(s):

  1. “Kaze ga Nanika wo Iou to Shiteiru 「風がなにかを言おうとしている」” by Hayami Saori (eps 1-18)
  2. “Shiawase no Kotodama 「シアワセの言霊」” by Yukana, Hayami Saori, Takahashi Mikako (eps 19-)

Insert Theme(s):

  1. n/a

The opening theme is not good, it sounds very strange for me. While the ending themes were pretty good, especially the second ending theme. The song has joyful mood and the animation is very cute.

The soundtracks or bgm used throughout the show is average. Most of the bgms were fairly suit the atmosphere of the story. Occasionally, the music used is not suitable for the scene.

I’ll have it rated: 13.5/20

Personal Rating

An average anime, with a simple plot and decent animation. I enjoyed.

My Studies at UTAR

After study at UTAR for the 3rd week, I thought I’d like to share my life here.

First, regarding what I’m currently studying. I took UTAR’s foundation in arts program which lead to the course of my choice, Information System Engineering.

For the first semester, I have 6 subjects to study.

  1. General Mathematics 1
  2. Computer Studies
  3. Introduction to Accounting
  4. Principles of Economics
  5. English Language
  6. Public speaking and Communication

Its funny for a science educated student to start off from arts stream in university/college. This is because Malaysia wanted to create a nation with high knowledge of science. And what they did is during secondary school, they make those students who score well in their exams into science stream.

What is the point for forcing every brilliant student into science stream? Won’t the industry went unbalanced? what we gonna do if there’s too much science students… They’re just killing off those students who don’t have interest with science.

And, so, Now, I’ve gotten into the Information System stream, thus, I have to study real hard in order to move forward. This is what I’ve always dream about.

Among the 6 subjects, I like and feared Computer studies the most. I like it because I always like computers, software and hardware. I fear it because I couldn’t imagine that if I couldn’t handle this subject properly. Yet, I’ll do whatever it takes, since there’s no turning back for me now.

While General maths is a nightmare for me. I thought it was something like modern maths, but I’m totally wrong. First chapter is about Logarithm…. its just like Form5’s additional maths, even deeper…

Accounting and economics is quite interesting, unlike science subjects which deals with theoretical, logic and bunch of unfamiliar things. Accounting and economics deals more with our common knowledge/sense or what we always used and money… =.=

I don’t have any comment on English and public speaking. Since both subjects’ objective is to enhance our language and communication skills. I think its quite nice if it doesn’t burden us.

That’s all for this post, will write a proper post whenever I’m free.

Twinhead Laptop Back-Pac

When you buy a laptop, normally, you’ll get a mouse and a laptop bag for free. You’ll get even more free stuffs if you buy a laptop during promotion or PC fair, such as USB flashdrive, USB hub, and even USB powered vacuum cleaner.

I didn’t get that much of free accessories since the time I bought my 4937G is not during the store’s promotion time or PC Fair. Anyway, I still got a free laptop bag and a optical mouse which I traded it to Logitech V120 Notebook Laser mouse.

Was really satisfied with the laptop and the mouse, however, the included laptop bag is so disappointing. I don’t really care if the bag looks good or not, as long as it serves it’s purpose well. The major problem of the bag is it’s size. The size is so small that after you put your laptop into it, you’ll having problem stuffing your power cable and mouse into it, don’t even mention about other things… What is the purpose for having a bag that could only fit a laptop inside it, am I suppose to get another bag for my power cable and mouse? It would be annoying to traveling around with 3-4bags…

By the way, I personally prefer a backpack than a briefcase. In terms of safety, a backpack is more safety than a briefcase. While in terms of comfort, carrying a backpack is more comfortable than carrying a briefcase.

After using that crappy laptop bag for a month, I decide to get a new bag for my laptop. Went to the PC shop beside Sitiawan Econsave, name that shop, cause I forgot the shop’s name… As expected, the prices are sky high, raging from unknown branded RM60 to Dell/HP/etc RM150. Even worst, the shop has few choices only, after struggling for few minutes regarding which bag should I choose. I finally decided to buy this Twinhead laptop backpack.

The bag is divided into 3 sections, the front section with several “slots”/mini-pockets for mini-notes, stationery and CD/DVDs. It has a mesh pocket, I think it is for earphones or cables.

Middle section has large space for books or power cables…

Back section for the laptop. It could fit in a maximum 14inch laptop, still have some space for your documents.

The padding of the bag is done pretty well. Interior and exterior are done really good. I like the backside’s padding, the feeling when carrying the bag is so great.

Overall, was really satisfied with this backpack, I could put my laptop, plastic folder, stationery case, 500ml bottle and some stuffs in it. Comfortable to carry around too.

What kind of laptop bag you’re using?

University Life Just Started

and so, the first week of my University life. For those who don’t know what I’m currently studying.. I’m studying Foundation for Information System Engineering at University Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kampar.

Met lots of people and new encounters. Such as, my lecturers, my study group members, how everyone cycles, transportation, university facilities and etc etc.

The first week is kinda relaxed, there’s no tutorial and practical class. We only have lecture class for the starting week. We’re introduced to our subject and our lecturers.

After I categorize the topics that I’m going to write, I’ll blog more about my life at Kampar in future posts.

An Eyeful a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

This is an old news, From what you’ve read, we guys will become healthier if we could have 10minutes of eyeful a day.

Some might think this is perverted, However, the most important is what we think about this issue. It is just same issue as some women likes to look at men’s body.
